Lacrosse
Lacrosse is a team sport that is being played with 10 players on the field. Every player carries a stick with on one end of the stick a little net where the ball is kept. The goal of the game is to score the ball in the opponent's goal by shooting it with the stick. One goal equals one point. The ball itself is made of solid rubber and its size is comparable to that of a heavy tennis ball. In the men's game, physical contact between players is allowed. Therefore, each player wears a helmet, breast, shoulder and elbow protection, as well as a mouthguard, a cup and gloves. Women are not allowed to make physical contact and thus wear only a mouthguard and sometimes goggles. Clearly, there is a large difference between men's lacrosse and women's lacrosse. The sport is a mix of basketball, American football, ice hockey and field hockey.
